When Martin Baker bought Garden Street Fabrics & Design in 2010, he never thought he would own his own business. He had spent the majority of his career as a classroom teacher, but when the previous owner decided to retire, Baker saw an opportunity and took it.
While weed block fabric may not be as pretty as some of the other materials that are available, it is very useful in keeping pesky weeds at bay. The fabric is manufactured into a cloth that you can lay over the soil in your landscape or garden to reduce pesky weeds while also protecting the hardscape and improving the aesthetic of the area.
While weed block fabric doesn’t hold down weeds as effectively as some of the other landscape materials that are available, it does a good job for the first year or two. However, after that time period, weeds will start sprouting from the ground and become harder to remove than they would be without the weed block fabric in place.
